1. Disconnect and Drain Completely Start by turning off the water supply taps and unplugging the machine. Disconnect the hoses, but keep a bucket and old towels handy because trapped water will spill out. Pull out the detergent drawer, empty any standing water, and let everything dry out completely to prevent mold during transit.

2. Secure the Drum with Transit Bolts This is the single most important step! Inside your washing machine is a heavy drum that bounces around on springs. If you don't secure it, the vibrations of a moving truck can wreck the suspension. Pop in the original transit bolts (or order a replacement set) to lock the drum firmly in place before moving.

3. Tape and Protect the Hoses Don't let loose cords and hoses swing around and dent the appliance body. Coil the power cord neatly and tape it securely to the back. Wrap up the drainage and inlet hoses, and tape them safely to the side or inside the drum.

4. Keep It Upright and Level Just like a fridge, your washing machine should always be transported in an upright position. Laying it flat can misalign the drum and damage internal parts.
